Shilparamam

There's a large area in Hyderabad called Shilparamam which is dedicated to showing how villagers in India live and make crafts. 

There were several life size displays which were pretty cool.  Here's a family sitting under their thatched roof:
And here are some fishermen:

They also had a living rock gallery there which was a collection of natural sculptures--rocks which take on the appearance of an object.


One cool thing about India is that everywhere I go I keep seeing these white geometric patterns drawn on the ground or on the sides of buildings.  Padmini explained they're just for decoration.  Here's one example:

Finally, I halfway achieved one of my goals for this trip, seeing an elephant.
Hopefully I'll see a live one yet before I leave!
